MyNavy HR’s MyNavy Messages Mobile App Keeps Sailors Informed Anytime, Anywhere

Need official Department of the Navy (DON) information to stay mission-ready at the touch of your fingertips? If so, download the MyNavy Messages app!

MyNavy Messages is the latest official Department of the Navy mobile application developed by MyNavy HR IT Solutions to give Sailors faster, more reliable access to the guidance and directives they need when and how they want it.

Created in response to Fleet requests, MyNavy Messages consolidates every Navy Administrative (NAVADMIN) and All Navy (ALNAV) messages released since 2021 in a secure, authoritative, subscription-free app that can be accessed on personal devices. Sailors can filter messages by number, date, topic, or classification. Real‑time alerts notify users the moment new messages are issued, and new ALNAVs and NAVADMINs appear in the app as soon as they’re published. Offline access ensures Sailors can reference saved content even without connectivity.

“Going to work every day, you sometimes might miss out on NAVADMINs that come up and you’re not aware of them. This keeps everyone in the loop and we can all pull it up instantly on the phone,” said U.S. Navy Air Traffic Controller 1st Class James Rulon. “I would recommend the MyNavy Messages app to other Sailors to keep up to date to all the NAVADMINS. Very convenient.”

Beyond search and alerts, the MyNavy Messages app includes features that make it easy to stay informed on the go. Users can “favorite” messages for quick reference, share them via text, email, or other apps, and submit questions or suggestions through a built‑in feedback tool — giving Sailors a direct line to the team that maintains the platform.

The MyNavy Messages experience is designed around how Sailors consume information today.

“Young Sailors prefer apps over websites because they find it easier to navigate,” said Michael Davis, MyNavy HR IT Solutions’ mobility assistant program manager. “It is important to keep up with the times and deliver information in the way they want to access it. With this app, Sailors know they’re getting official, uncorrupted information — straight from the Navy. Most importantly, it’s free.”

That emphasis on usability came directly from the Fleet.

“The idea for MyNavy Messages came directly from Sailor feedback,” Davis said. “Sailors asked for an app to track official messages, so we brought the idea forward for development. It’s an app requested by Sailors, delivered to Sailors.”

The app is available on both iOS and Android devices and can be downloaded for free on the Apple App Store, Google Play, or through the Navy App Locker ([AppLocker.navy.mil](https://AppLocker.navy.mil)), a one-stop shop for all official Navy mobile applications, available as both a website and mobile app. There, Sailors can explore, download, and learn about apps that support every stage of their careers.

As part of the Navy’s agile, iterative modernization strategy, MyNavy Messages will continue to evolve with user feedback and changing Fleet needs. Together, with other MyNavy HR IT’s digital initiatives, it underscores a consistent priority: Giving Sailors greater transparency, control, and efficiency to manage their careers and access mission-essential information.

“MyNavy HR IT Solutions has one goal: To make Sailors’ lives easier,” Davis said. “From the beginning of their careers through retirement, we want their Navy experience to be positive. Many of us are veterans and we understand the Fleet’s challenges. We’re dedicated to making things better for today’s Sailors.”
